Wellington Choice Stuff

Wow, this is my first post on this here website and I’m feeling the pressure! Lists always take the pressure off some so I’m going to give you lovely readers my idea of the TOP FIVE general things in Wellington right now.

1) 48 Hour Film Fest. Last weekend was shoot weekend, it was just about perfect weather, only one team managed to get the cops called on them and now we’re into the heats. Heats are free for people who were involved with a team. The exciting part though? The finals on 5 May – $15 gets you in, you’ll see 12 good films and one ‘Best Worst Film’. And I promise you it’ll be $15 well spent – unlike the $15 you spent to go and see Date Night.

2) I like things that make me laugh. To be fair, it’s not exactly hard to make me laugh. Most radio shows make me grrry though. How’s Your Mental Health though? I love this show so much. The hosts are deliciously insane (and that is a good thing), and the girl who hosts it has the best sense of humour ever. VBC, 7 – 9pm Tuesday.

3) GAYWYRE TONIGHT SAN FRAN. For one thing, it’s free. And for another, headbanging is fun. And gives you great hair according to a random source. It’s on tonight (Wed 21). Go watch/mosh/headbang.

4) The staff at Fidel’s. They made me a smoothie with my name in it in yoghurt. They rock. And all of them are strangely good looking. And make food that we can all eat (amongst our common group there are two gluten free, three vegans, and one eat anything machine). Lust, like, love.

5) The window displays at Iko Iko. I adore these. Who comes up with them? Whoever you are, you’re awesome and bring me entertainment.

Have a great week lovely people!
