BUT I DON'T BOTHER

One of the few acts on the current Sub Pop roster to really uphold the unrestrained filth of early Sub Pop acts like Nirvana and Mudhoney, Pissed Jeans are back with their sophomore offering, King Of Jeans. Matt Korvette basically throws an apocalyptic tantrum all the way through album opener False Jesii Pt. 2, refusing to do anything. Wear a tight black shirt, bring a 6-pack, anything. Then he revels in his laziness all the way through a wordless, snarling hook of a chorus. The riffs are brutaller than brutal, and it’s a welcome return after the 2 years since Hope For Men. The albums kinda slips up for me when he goes too far into Nick Cave territory: Pissed Jeans come off way better when they kick it hard and fast. Just like on the track below, Human Upskirt. Nom nom.
